Memorial Day and more

Our good friend Thad came for a visit over Memorial Day weekend! We were so glad for his visit. I really feel like having friends and family come to our new place is making it our home. The weather was great on Memorial Day so we headed out to Thacher park for a hike and a picnic. The girls were thrilled!Anna Kate loves to wear this Elmo backpack, packed with her lunch! (thanks, Aunt Hillery for sending it to Lucy!)It really was beautiful. We have only been to this State Park in the fall, so it was great to see it green and lush. Samantha rode in the backpack on Daddy's back and did a great job!A little wading in the stream. The water was chilly and there were fish and frogs. But that didn't stop the girls. Daddy and Thad came ready for wading, but the rest of us had to take off our socks and shoes and roll up our pants! Bear was along for the adventure, too, though he didn't swim this time. I was sure everyone would fall asleep in the car. We had been busy and it was way past naptime. But, since no one did, we stopped for some ice cream instead. On Tuesday we went downtown. We checked out the WWII memorial, which was beautiful. Samantha always chillin' in the stroller. She turned 7 months on Sunday. The time really goes by too quickly. She is busy these days: crawling, pulling up, standing, just beginning to cruise, "talking", making raspberries, even clapping! She really is a Joy.

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us Thad, and thanks for visiting!
I just had to add this picture from the park on Sunday. Lucy still loves her winter hat, even wearing it inside-out. It's so cute, we just go with it!
