Winter came back

But, on Friday winter returned with 12-15 inches snow. It's cold again. So, we made cookies. And we had to try them right away, too.

Here's Dave starting to shovel after the storm stopped. He's clearing off the back deck . . .

Spring was almost here . . .

The weather was beautiful early in the week. So, the girls and I took advantage of it with some outside activity. First, we went to the park . . . slides, swings, climbing . . . it was great! Then, we went to a friend's house to go sledding. Sorry, I didn't get any pictures, as I was required to sled with them.

Lucy and her pig

Lucy was given this pig - a character from the Boyton books - for her birthday. She is really cuddling with animals and dolls, holding them, she'll even sway with them in her arms. It's so cute!

Winter crafts!

We haven't been able to go outside to build a snowman or sled because everyone has had colds and coughs non-stop, so we had to make snowmen inside - marshmallow snowmen, that is. And the black paper? Well, that's Anna Kate's snow!!!

Happy Valentine's Day and a real winter snow storm

About 10 minutes before Lucy's naptime (the day after the storm), Anna Kate asked to go outside and play. We bundled everyone up, but we didn't stay outside very long . . . I got a quick shot of Anna Kate standing at the bottom of the front porch stairs! Can you believe the size of that drift? Here's a look around the backyard. And on the bottom left, our neighbor's driveway. I don't know if you can see it, but she has a huge wall of snow (she uses a snow plowing service for her driveway. It's effective but not very pretty.)
Here's Lucy yesterday - while Daddy was shoveling. Once again, yesterday, we only lasted a few minutes outside. It was frigid cold yesterday with wind chills dropping below zero.
Here's Anna Kate yesterday - she can't even walk in it because it's so deep and she is not used to all her gear!
Daddy had to help her up.
Today we sat down for fun . . .
