welcome refreshment

Our family enjoyed President's Day weekend at Camp of the Woods. This is the same camp we attend every November for the regional staff conference. However, this was a conference weekend sponsored by the camp and welcome refreshment for our family. Lots of time together, lots of favorite things to do, great fellowship . .  . The sunset on Sunday night was beautiful. We don't see very many sunsets in NY - it seems like the sky is smaller here - but on our walk back, the sky over the (very frozen) lake was beautifully striped pink and orange.
We went tubing. Anna Kate rode on Daddy's lap at first. But before we left the hill, she was going on her own tube from the top. (Dave was only holding on to her tube.)
Lucy liked it, too, but only went on Daddy's lap.
Even Samantha had a great time tubing; we pushed her a bit too far right before we left. (oops)
Earlier on Sunday, we had a horse-drawn sleigh ride. The girls were in heaven! I loved it, too! Hearing the harness bells, watching the horses obey . ..
And it was a bright, sun-shiny day!

Anna Kate and Daddy tried out the climbing wall. There were too many unfamiliar people for Anna Kate to really enjoy herself.
Samantha, just like her big sister Lucy, loves these hats from LL Bean. We have sweaters to match. And Samantha wears a hat like this inside, outside, most of the time.
See . . . here she is, in our room, with only a diaper on, and the hat! This time her hat, which matches the bear sweater.

wow- that sounds WONDERFUL! I am so glad you guys had a chance to get away and be together. It is so easy with all the conferences and such to never really do a real family vacation, but it is so important!
