At the end of our time there, we indulged in famous apple cider donuts, which we all loved, except I am always disappointed that they don't actually taste like apple cider.
We had to bundle up for a real fall day! And we were able to walk around the farm and see chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, a pot-bellied pig, sheep, bunnies, geese . . .

The girls climbed on an old tractor parked in the sand box. (Dave thinks the sand box is actually a toy graveyard, but the girls had a great time!)
This was my favorite part of the day. Have you ever seen anything like it? She is a Scottish Highlander Cow. According to the sign, they are actually really smart and mild-mannered (though the sign posted said to stay back from the fence because of the horns . . . mild-mannered?). Her name is Rosie.

When Kathleen, Kelly and I were driving through northern Scotland in 1973 a herd of these suddenly appeared out of the mist. We'd never seen anything like & thought our eyes were tricking. Then we found out they were Highland Cattle--what a rare sight in our parts.
Megan, either you are a great photograher--or you have the most photogenic subjects. I think it's both. You, and all , are in my prayers.
